E-Business Center - ELTRUN.
Director: Professor G. I. Doukidis
ELTRUN was created in 1991 with the objective of establishing a center
of excellence in research and development for e-Business at AUEB. Since
its creation, ELTRUN has grown to be the preferred partner for collaborative
research and development in eBusiness by Greek and European partners alike.
With over 40 members (20 of which are Ph.D. students). ELTRUN is divided
in the following units: Wireless Research Center (WRC), Organizational
Information Systems (OIS), Interdisciplinary Research in Interorganizational
Systems (IRIS), Software Engineering and Security Group (SENSE), Interactive
Marketing and Electronic Service Group (IMES). ELTRUN is currently collaborating
with more than 80 European organizations and universities in joint research
projects such as: NOKIA, ORACLE, Procter & Gamble, INSEAD, St. Gallen
University, Copenhagen Business School, Cologne University, MIT, University
of Cyprus, Erasmus University, UMIST, Vodafone, Alcatel, Ericsson, etc.

Management Science Laboratory
- MSL. Director: Professor G.P. Prastacos
MSL was created in January 2000 with the objective to enhance AUEB's research
and education in every critical facet of management sciences in the information
economy. The laboratory is organized into three research centers: InnKnow
(Innovation and Knowledge Management Center), OPeR (Operations and ERP
Systems Center), and FRC (Financial Engineering Research Center). With
approximately 25 members (half of which are doctoral students), MSL has
successfully completed a large number of projects in collaboration with
leading academic or corporate partners in various areas including innovation
management, change management, impact analysis, knowledge management,
competencies management, performance measurement, R&D management, operations
management, ERP systems, risk management, portfolio management, real estate
financial engineering etc. In addition, MSL has produced a large number
of working papers, numerous publications in the leading international
management journals, an international newsletter, and has organized two
international conferences on knowledge and innovation management. Website:

TRANsportation Systems
and LOGistics Center - TRANSLOG. Director: Professor K.G. Zografos
TRANSLOG was established in 1997 with the objective to become a center
of excellence in research and development in the areas of transport, logistics,
and supply chain management. The research conducted within TRANSLOG focuses
on the application of management science methods and information systems
technologies in transportation systems analysis, logistics, and supply
chain management. Particular emphasis is placed on interdisciplinary research
involving university faculty, doctoral students, and national and international
partners, to grasp the multiple facets and rapidly evolving changes in
the area of logistics and supply chain management. The areas of expertise
include Air Transport, Logistics Systems and Supply Chain Management,
Intermodal Transport, Emergency Response Logistics, Transport System Performance
assessment and Pricing. TRANSLOG has participated (participates) in over
40 collaborative research projects, many among those being funded by the
European Commission, the Ministry of Development (General Secretariat
for Science and Technology), the Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications,
the Ministry of Environment, Public Affairs and Regional Planning, and

Information Technologies
and Systems for Management Laboratory - ISTLab. Director: Assistant Professor
D.D. Spinellis
The Information Technology and Management Systems laboratory aims to explore,
research, create, formulate, and integrate engineering and management
practices to increase the productivity of the information systems realization
process. To reach these goals the laboratory's researchers work on a number
of interrelated paths: development processes, technology practices, information
system security, programming languages and environments, and information
systems management. The laboratory actively collaborates with leading
industrial and academic partners in a number of research-oriented, development,

Strategy and Entrepreneurship
Center. Director: Professor S.K. Lioukas
It is a center of excellence devoted to the promotion of academic, applied
and policy research in the fields of strategy, competitiveness and entrepreneurship.
It focuses on strategy formulation and implementation, business transformation
and strategic change, business conditions and regulations, strategic leadership,
planning processes and systems, internationalization, as well as entrepreneurship
and new business development.
Centre of Research in Organisational
Behaviour & Leadership - CROB-L. Director: Professor D. Bourantas
CROB’s mission is the execution of research in Organizational Behaviour,
Leadership and Organizational Psychology, the widest possible distribution
of research findings and the understanding of the importance of research
in the field of Organizational Behavior and Human Resources Management
both in Greece and abroad. Part of the Athens University of Economics
and Business, which has always been on the forefront of education and
research in Greece, our Research Centre is created with the thought of
promoting the issues of Organizational Behaviour, Psychology and Leadership
both academically and professionally. At the same time, at CROB we are
trying our best to combine experienced faculty with promising young researchers.
